Paden Mather struck out eight over five hitless innings of relief and the Dragons broke open a one-run game with a three-run eighth, beating the Oneonta Outlaws 6-2 at Damaschke Field on Monday night for their first win of the 2026 season. Glens Falls scored in four different innings, didn't commit an error, and turned a 3-1 Outlaws deficit into a 6-2 cushion with a two-out, two-run single from Hunter Fales in the eighth. The Dragons climb to 1-2.

Mather (W, 1-0) entered in the fifth and shut Oneonta down completely — three hits, one earned run, one walk, eight punchouts — bailing out starter Billy Kind, who navigated four innings of three-hit, one-run ball. The Glens Falls offense leaned on Max McCluskey, who reached base four times on a 3-for-3 day with a hit-by-pitch and two runs scored, and Tyler McKillop, whose RBI double in the fourth gave the Dragons a 2-0 lead. Billy Barthel singled home Hunter Fales in the third for the game's first run, and Hunter Fales capped the scoring with the eighth-inning single that plated McCluskey and pinch-runner Anthony Lino.

Oneonta starter Braeden McNamee (L, 0-1) took the loss after four innings of four-hit, two-run ball. The Dragons' bullpen — Mather solo — held the Outlaws to one hit over the final five innings, including a 1-2-3 ninth that finished with back-to-back strikeouts. Glens Falls returns to Damaschke Field on Wednesday night for the second leg of the two-game road set.
