See all of Smoke’s reports →One night after edging Saugerties by a run, the Dragons watched the rematch flip the other way, falling 13-3 in seven innings at East Field on Friday. A seven-run Stallions fourth blew a manageable 2-1 game wide open, and Saugerties tacked on two more in both the sixth and the seventh to close it out early. The Stallions pounded 15 hits to eight for Glens Falls, which committed two errors and dropped to 11-19.
Cooper Schmidt paced the visitors with a 3-for-5, three-run, three-RBI night, singling home two runs during the decisive fourth and driving in another in the seventh. Ryan Recio did the heaviest damage with four RBI, lacing a two-run single in the fourth and a two-run homer in the sixth, while Christian Bernanardini went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple in the first and an RBI double in the seventh. Glens Falls answered in flashes: Tyler Worth stayed hot at 3-for-3 with an RBI, Rene Vega reached three times, and Jack Rigabar and Shane Hoover each knocked in a run.
Frederick Bornn gave the Dragons three steady innings before the fourth unraveled — Kyle Fives was charged with five runs while recording two outs, and Anders Lowkes surrendered Recio's homer. Glens Falls stays home Saturday to open a set with the Albany Athletics.
